78 jeep CJ5 winch?
well its time to start adding stuff to my jeep and im looking for a winch what pound pull do you recomend? I am not a hardcore off roader but will see mud and my friends do tend to get stuck alot lol Just looking for something that is cheep but reliable. Also do you need a bumper to accept a winch or will it mount right to the frame?
You will want a winch that is ATLEAST rated for 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle. If you are planning on helping your buddies out you might look at a larger winch depending on what type of vehicles they have. A winch that is ok for a small Jeep may not stand a chance trying to recover a 1ton full size pickup, stuck to the frame running 44″ boggers.
