Pellet Stove grate has built to overflow every morning when I wake. intake air from inside home,GQ pellets! ??
This is EVERY morning, and pellet brand,hopper level,ash pan level,calm/windy days… makes NO DIFFERENCE! Stove is made by Whitfield. Only known variable is exhaust, as vented outside.What could be causing this aggrevating condition EVERY Morning? Time varies between 6:00am-9:00am when problem is noticed….HELP! Thanks, ED.
Whitfield is now owned by Lennox. Basically what is going on is the pellets are getting to the hopper faster than they can burn up. The problem is caused by either by pellets being fed to the hopper too quickly, (auger trim adjustment), or not enough exhaust draft, (exhaust trim adjustment. exhaust damper) or other adjustment. If you have an Advantage II stove, there is an owners manual online at http://www.lennoxhearthproducts.com/resources/manual/Advantage%20Plus%20S.N.101201-up.pdf If you have a different model, try Lennox Hearth Tech support online at http://www.lennoxhearthproducts.com/support/ Once you find out how to adjust your stove, it will just take some tweaking. A change in pellets will require a new adjustment. The control system on this type of stove is a simple timed circuit with no sensors in the exhaust or burn area so it may take a bit of time to get it set right the first time. After that life should be warm and cozy. Good Luck!
