Food Waste Disposer?
WHY DOES MY Food Waste Disposer shake and rattle the whole sink and counter top when i turn it on
First check to make sure there’s nothing in it. (Sometimes rags slip down into them and cause them to bang like crazy.) If it is empty and still shakes it should be replaced. I have remodeled several houses over the years and have put in several cheap garbage disposals. They do the trick but are very noisy. If you must replace the disposal, I would suggest the “Insinkerator” (not sure of the spelling) that Lowe’s sells. (I neither work for Lowe’s or Insinkerator.) I installed that one in my current home. It is kind of pricey. I think it was around $180, but it was worth every cent.
Another tid bit of garbage disposal info. Never put stringy food in the disposal. Celery will ruin one faster than anything. It is good to put small chicken bones through it every once in awhile, as this keeps the blades sharp.
