Why can not I plug a freezer or refrigerator in a garage GFCI outlet?
My garage has a score above the GFCI outlet do not plug a freezer or refrigerator. Why? Should I replace the GFCI outlet with a regular intake?
replace a GFCI newer model. under the new 2008 Code, the refrigerators are not immune to GFCI! reason to be (for the new GFCI latest indicators have) have improved the designs, to (supposedly) not fire during inrush currents motor. a more likely reason is that the code update is for manufacturers of ground fault to make more money. (They are on the code-making panel) if the code at your house under construction need a circuit breaker in the garage that replaced the breaker. if not, just replaced by a standard 3-pin plug. I say replace it with one, and not a duplex, a receptacle if you are concerned about the cr * ping GFCI.
