Is three 9 volt batteries any different in voltage than one 9 volt battery?
Is three 9 volt batteries any different in voltage than one 9 volt battery? Can anyone answer? If I have three 9 volt batteries connected together to one device, does that mean I am using 27 volts?
It depends on whether you connect them in series or in parallel.
If you connect them in series (+ on one battery to the – on the next battery, then + on that battery to – on the next, etc.), then the voltage increases but the capacity stays the same.
If you connect them in parallel (all + together, all – together), then the voltage stays the same but the capacity increases.
