Does anyone know what diode is installed in the 19.2 volt craftsmen battery?
I have repaired my 19.2 v cordless drill battery by replacing the NiCd batteries inside but in the process I broke the diode (I think) that is connected between the terminals. I am trying to find a replacement but have no idea on the value or part number to find a new one.
If it was in line with one terminal it would be a thermistor to control charging. If it’s across it’s probably a diode to control kickback from the motor coil when you release the trigger. Almost any diode will have a reverse voltage rating be more than twice the battery voltage, and 3 amps forward current rating should be fine.
