How do I convert a video phone to a high enough quality for YouTube?
Ok so my friend sent me a video MMS has been saved on his phone is 3.2 megapixel and 3GP format. How can I Convet if it is high quality? I have try and make it to AVI format and some other easily, but when I try to see everything is blurry. Is there anyway to make it better as it is atleast visible on YouTube? Thank you
First 3.2 MP refers to the maximum size of images you can pick up the phone. Generally, it is 2048×1536 max resolution. 3gp videos from a camera phone will be much lower in respect of resolution (typically 176×144 resolution, alias QCIF). Tell your friend to save the video settings at the highest possible quality (QVGA, if the phone can handle, is in 320×240) if you want a decent quality video to post on YouTube (640×480 is recommended). YouTube is a page here: http://help.youtube.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=55744&topic=10526. They recommend that the downloaded file to be converted into MPEG-4 with MP3 audio first for best results. That video that you received from your friend can probably be decent, but not without artificial arrangement heavy filtering. You probably will not be able to eliminate the blur of the video if the source was too small. After all, the blur is actually there to compensate: You would not want videos like giant pixels in the vein of the TV series Code Monkeys G4, would you? BTW, to freshmeatz: the question is in the other direction, so you know.
