Shower faucet valve hard to get out?
I am trying to replace the valves in my shower faucets. The brand is Kent Speakman. From all the information I could collect I would say I have compression type shower valves. I have removed the handles and stem nuts but cannot see any other nuts beyond the stem nut. According to what I’ve read the valve should come right out but it does not. Am I missing a step here? The valve has a chrome tube surrounding it. Does this chrome tube screw on to the outside of the valve deep in the wall and should it be removed? Thanks for everyone’s help.
I just looked at some images of speakman valves.
I can only guess what you have, but it looks like the chrome tube screw is what is containing everything.
It looks like removing that might be what you want to do.
If all else fails, contact the manufacturer for the info you need.
