what ddr ram should i use in an msi kt266 k7 motherboard with and amd athlon 1800 socket-a processor?
i’m guessing i want the 184-pin not the 240-pin. but is it pc3200 pc2700 pc2100 or pc1600? what’s the difference? is it anything like sd ram pc100 and pc66 pc100 was for an intel/celeron and pc 66 was for pentiums or something like that. aren’t sdram universal now? it’s been a long time. the last time i tinkered inside my comp was to change the motherboard which has both sd and ddr slots and to add a dvd-rom. i haven’t upgraded much else.

the PC3200 PC2700 etc is just the speed of the RAM. The RAM and the type of Processor do not matter, but both have to be compatible with the motherboard.
