How Wind Turbines Work
Wind turbines work by catching a wind current of at least 8 mph in the rotary blades of the turbine. The force created from turning the rotary blades turns a shaft in the generator motor which generates an electrical current. This current passes from the generator to a battery supply pack and can be used to power your house. An electrical system should be installed to prevent damage to the battery pack.
How To Build A Wind Mill
Building your own wind mill is not hard if you know exactly what parts to use and how to construct it. A detailed manual will greatly help you in the entire process saving you time and money. Getting the correct parts is essential in constructing an efficient and effective wind mill.
You’ll need to construct a tower, a rotating platform, the turbine, and the electrical system. The turbine blades can be made out of wood or PVC pipe. These need to be well constructed in order to catch the wind to move the rotors. The type of generator you use is important as it will determine the amount of power you draw from the wind. The turbine is mounted on a movable platform so the system can catch the wind at the best angle.
