The Troy Reed Magnetic Motor

As the race for sustainable energy escalates in response to the current environmental crisis, researchers are working on several technologies for renewable electricity. The magnetic motor technology is among the list of promising sources.

In the past decade, various memorable individuals have played a key role in researching magnetic motors.  Troy Reed is among the pioneers. Reed attracted public attention as early as 1994 when he first introduced his seven kilowatt motor. Reed’s invention was developed in conjunction with the late Dennis Weaver. Weaver was not only a prominent actor, but was a dedicated environmentalist long before the current swell of enthusiasm.  Working together, Reed and Weaver planned to promote their magnetic motor publicly, but for one reason or another, this goal did not materialize.

A Free Electricity Source  for the Average Home

Prior to going public with his motor, Reed spent fifteen years designing a generator which he claimed could power several homes, including his own. The Troy Read motor would have been an ideal solution for the average home owner. It could generate seven kilowatts of electricity, whereas the average home was said to use approximately three kilowatts.

Reed’s invention was so promising that he is believed to have issued licenses for the machine and attracted investors for future development. Some controversy surrounds Reed’s magnet motor, however. Allegedly, according to one source, he later said that his motor was not sustainable.

The Magnetic Motor Surge Car

Troy Reed did other work in the field of magnetic motor technology. The Surge Car is among his other inventions. His vision was to introduce the car to the world in a high profile event in which he and Weaver drove the vehicle at high speeds along a major roadway.  Reed claimed that major network programs such as Larry King Live, 60 Minutes and 20/20 were interested in covering this event.  However, this plan did not come to fruition.

Although major networks didn’t come on board, Reed did manage to film his technology in action. The Internet offers numerous video demonstrations of the magnetic motor installed in the engine compartment. There is also a short demo of Reed driving the car in 1994.

How the Troy Reed Motor Works

Like similar magnetic motors, Reed and Weaver’s machine depends upon a brief input of power to start the movement. In the beginning, Reed used a hand crank for startup power but then later changed to using two car batteries. Aside from this, his machine is similar to other magnetic motors except for some small details. These unique details are the basis for the patents on Reed’s inventions.

Reed’s machine differentiates itself from other magnetic motors in that it uses four discs, holding eight magnets per disc.  The outer discs are stationary. The inner discs are affixed to a shaft that rotates.

The Troy Reed Magnet Motor Today

Although Reed appeared to be off to a promising start in 1994, little has occurred on his front since that time. Although international licensing agreements are allegedly finalized, the market has no commercial application of Reed’s work.

Anyone wanting to build a similar type of magnetic motor at home can do so readily, using one of the guides or ebooks available online. Magnets4Energy Free Energy Plan is among the best known.
