Tool Bag

what’s a good chef tool bag for culinary school?
i’m starting culinary school and am looking for a bag to put my tools in. i have a roll for my knives already. the bag will have to be able to hold measuring cups and spoons, biscuit cutters, kitchen scale, whisks, spoon, spatula, 2 rolled up silpats, and a few pastry tools. any suggestions as to a brand, size, or style? thanks!
Samson, all the chefs I ever worked with use commercial tool boxes from hardware stores, like Lowes or Home Depot.
The brand, size and style all vary, based on personal taste and the amount of equipment they wish to carry. They range from small to extra large, from black, to black and yellow, to blue, to red.
Invest in one that you find visually appealing, and will fit your equipment with enough room to grow. You can always buy a larger one down the road. Make sure the one you buy can be locked with a separate pad lock in the middle – you don’t want to loose anything.
Update: My culinary colleagues told me that they were given tool boxes as part of their tuition benefit. At $40,000, it probably should be. Check with admissions, you may not need to buy one unless you want a different style.
Good luck!
