How do you reattach a shower head backing that is loose from the tile wall?
I can’t find instructions on how to do this, but maybe it’s because I do not know the proper term for the part connected to the shower head that attaches to the wall. At my apartment, this backing hangs loose from the wall. It’s ugly. How to reattach?
You have a shower head that is screwed onto a goose neck shaped pipe that goes into the wall. Probably has a round piece that is around this pipe that fits against the wall, I think.
The pipe actually screws into the water supply line behind the wall.
I am assuming the round piece that is suppose to fit against the wall and hide the hole where the pipe goes into the wall is what is loose and you want to secure.
You could use some tape around the pipe so that the washer would fit snugly as you push the washer against the wall.
Might be able to bend out a bit of the inner diameter of the washer so that it holds firm when pressed against the wall.
Another thought would be to get some spackling compound at a hardware store and fill the back of the washer, they are typically domed, then pushing against the wall and securing until dry. Remove any of the spackling that squeezes out before it drys.
