Why won’t my car start?
My girlfriends car will not start. It would just give a repeated clicking noise. I jumped it and it started right up and would continue to run. Then I turned on all the lights and radio while hooked up to a battery tester and the voltage meter went down to 9.7.
Is this definitely the Alternator? Some people keep saying that it sounds (the literal clicking noise) like a bad starter.
The battery checked fine!!

Thanks for all the help so far.
I bought a new battery and the car started right up. But the battery light was still on. So i hooked it up to the alternator checker and it came back faulty. THANKS FOR THE HELP
Its your alternator.. even with everything accessory wise turned on during running your voltage shouldnt drop below 13 volts… what you might also want to try is cleaning up the battery terminals as well but I would definetly stick my knife in the alternator.. take it to a alternator repair shop and have them check it for free
