How I can check to make sure my wireless router secure?
I `v heard people living nearby can use your wireless router, if they have not protected. Is this true? How I can check my network is secure? I `ma newbie wireless.Thanks.
It is only safe if you have encryption wireless enabled. You should use WPA encryption - no WEP. To check this you need to look in the router administration page. ##### Is necessary for access the router from a computer connected to it with a cable (or phone). To access the router to start Internet Explorer and type the following address IP in the address bar. It is likely to be: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.10.1 192.168.100.1 or you will then be prompted for a username and password. Hopefully, be entered now and "remember" for you. If not, try: Username: admin Password: admin or Username: Admin Password: admin or Username: admin Password: password or user name: admin Password: blank Once on the website of the router you should look for "Wireless Security" or something similar and look for the WPA key.
