Bronze Handle

I have an old sword made in India, and I need help finding the information they contain?
It is what looks like a bronze handle with a head type cat leads to a great return.'s own double-edged sword at the end and says "Made in India" on the near side of the handle. The grip is a red cloth with a faded gold plating off the handle. It's a bad description, but that's how I can not describe, if you know please help
Unfortunately, if it says "Made in India" ..... is not that old. The "made in .." is a new requirement for imported parts in mass production .... around the end of the 50's, early 60's, as is India, possibly even more recent. And it was mass produced, if you have to dial. There are real swords and made decent in India, with a forge exceptional few who do play swords for collectors and film directors. You can buy a replica gun that was beautiful in India for less than $ 100. The most recent big sellers were the films of The Lord of the Rings, Tristan and Isolde and the Kingdom of Heaven. Beautiful pieces but they cost about $ 100. Unless it's a reproduction piece is considered a novelty piece, mass-produced for tourists and the design market.
