Does New York state building code require a wall switch for a ceiling fan?
The fan has pull chain switches for the fan and light, but I want to know if NY wants a wall switch as well.
We’ve sold thousands of fans in New York over the last few months in both residential and commercial applications and have never heard of such a requirement, so I cannot imagine that would be the case.
Regardless, it’s most likely that you can purchase a universal control that will convert your pull chain fan to a wall controlled fan if you so desire. The resource is linked below.
