Submersible Sump
My sump pump runs every 40-50 seconds. How can I solve this problem in order not to burn?
I have a submersible pump (1 / 2 hp) with a float to the outside (it seems that there is a switch on the side of the pump that starts to blow on it). When I unplug the pump, the water stops flowing in at the drain pipe and stops completely. When I look outside the house, the PVC pipe runs underground for about 30 feet until it reaches a large puddle in the backyard which inflates when the pump is running, then decreases when it goes off. I have a partial unfinished basement with a small lake ~ 1 / 2 acre away. The housing of the pump itself seems to be deep in the well as opposed to previous homes I've owned (~ 7.10 inches below the water leak). I'm worried that at a time of crisis (heavy rain) that the burnout pit, because it runs too often, when the weather is dry. I am new to the house we moved in ~ two weeks ago. We live in northern Illinois. Any help would be appreciated!
If I understand you correctly, it looks like water reached a level at this location and current weather conditions. Sounds like you can afford to raise the float a few centimeters. Another thing can trigger cycles of the pump is often whether it resides in a small diameter hole and has two no-return valve or debris that prevent backflow valve. In this situation, a certain volume of water in the execution reamining flow back into the hole and triggers the float, either immediately shortly after the normal flow of underground water seeps in.
