How to fix an external security steel door
Security steel doors are fixed on the main entrance or any other external door openings in a building. Most houses have normal timber panel, steel or ordinary flush doors installed externally. For many dwellings, the main porch or entrance has to be secure and with good aesthetics. Houses need to have weather proof main doors. This are will be exposed to cold, heat, sun rays and abrasion from wind, therefore they must be durable with lasting properties.
When ready to fix an external steel door, assess the entrance and note how the other is hang. This works take about two days therefore it would be important to be alert after changing the door overnight. Measure the door opening and purchase an the one that fits correctly. When ready start by removing the existing door and hinges from the frame. Next, hack ends of the frame and loosen the fasteners and lugs off the walls to remove the frame.
Once the entrance to fix the external steel security door is free, take the new frame and align it to fit. but ensure that the door leafs are removed first. Plumb the frame ends and level the top. Check for any alarm system points on the wall and beam above exposing them to be attached to the door. Drill the beam and walls and bolt the frame into place. Return the door leafs and hang them correctly. Ensure the locking system is opening and closing.
When the external security steel door is in place, check the frame spacing. Add rich concrete to the top and sides to fill the spaces and let to dry overnight with the door locked in place. Open the door the next day and adjust accordingly. Plaster, and reconnect the alarm systems if any. After one week paint or decorate the plastered surfaces. If the floor was grazed during fixing also make good. Wipe the door and peel off the protective sheet.
