Do I understand that the colon circles in our abdomen in a square shape?
Then what support the stretch of the colon without falling lower?
The large intestine is held in place through connective tissue that attaches to the abdominal wall and allows for blood vessels to gain access to the intestinal wall. The tissue looks almost like a sheer sheet of pink silk with fat globs and a spider’s web of blood vessels running through it.
The large intestine starts on the lower right side of the abdomen, travels up the right side, across the top of the abdominal wall and down the left side where it ends in the rectum (rectum darn near killed him – ha ha little gut humor).
