Soldering Butane
Soldering help please?
so i’ve done a little bit of soldering in a jewelry class, and this is my first attempt on my own. I am trying to solder a small flat brass heart onto a slightly larger silver one. I am using this solder:http://www.jewelrysupply.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19_227_232&products_id=7813
and a small butane torch. I put flux on the pieces and everytime the solder just balls up and won’t flow. I have sanded the metals, and even the solder wire. I don’t know how to fix this so any help is much appreciated.
Not enought heat. Try applying solder (a thin layer) on each piece and then set into the position you want. Then heat both pieces at the same time.
