Socket Lot
I notice a lot of AMD sockets are socket 939 however what are the differences between 754 etc.. ??
I was curious the differences between the types of the sockets. I guess I’m thinking which is the newest or best etc.. I don’t want to go for the opteron systems becuase they are expenvise (processor around $800 no way!!!). I encode DVDs, compile programs, HTML graphics. Pretty much the high end stuff. My computer right now is running a Socket 462 abit board with a 3200 XP.
socket 754 is older and you cant get to newer processors to fit it. most of the new processors are socket 939. so getting a 754 would make upgrading difficult.
