Small Aqua

A small town in the Dominican Republic
Sosua is a small town in the province of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. The city is divided into three sectors. A small village with a cosmopolitan character, which offers a superb crescent shaped beach and numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
The city has been developed by a group of about 600 Jewish refugees from Europe who settled here in 1940 and founded the dairy industry currently booming for which the village is to be noted.
The original synagogue built by the expatriate community is still ongoing and has a museum devoted to the history of the community.
Near Sosua is a great attraction for family holidays, the Columbus Aqua Park offering many water activities.
The Dominican Republic is hot and tropical, with little seasonal variation in temperature, which average of about 77. Seasons can, however, be determined by rainfall, with October to April being the rainy season on the north coast, while that May to November is the wettest month in the south.
Hurricanes occur on average once every two years on the island, the most striking south of the country and most happening in August and September.
The busiest time of year to visit is between December and April when North Americans take a tropical break from their winter and from June to September, coinciding with the European summer holidays.
Spanish is the official language but English is spoken in major tourist centers.
Sosua Beach is one of the most beautiful of the Caribbean coast no, with beautiful clear waters. My advice to anyone being is to make as many trips as possible. Rafting is amazing as is the horse and the race rum is something that you remember. Km, the half of the beach has beautiful soft, white sand, turquoise waters and sits sheltered in a cove surrounded high cliffs of incredible coral. Just behind the beach there are plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants vying for your business. This is also where most snorkelling and diving tours depart.
The government has provided land and resources they have created a dairy and cheese factory, Products called Sosua, still in existence today. Descendants of early settlers still live in Sosua, where they maintain a synagogue and a museum.
Drinking bottled purified water is highly recommended and is available everywhere in the Dominican Republic. Hotels and restaurants use purified water to clean and cook their food and purified water is used to make all the ice. It is not advisable to drink tap water. For those who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended that you do not even use tap water for brushing teeth. Different microbes in water Dominican Republic, compared to those found in water supplies in other countries, may adversely affect some people.
