There are a number of differences between a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation created a college for your work. Many of these tips may seem sensible, but it is the finer points of a presentation that your audience back on, and that will define how they are taking it and if they take seriously.
The following is a checklist containing the most common points to look for when creating a presentation for your work. Good idea to print something like this and pass it before you put your presentation for any kind of review.
- Using a model – If you can, you should use the standard model of your company, project, etc. uses for PowerPoint presentations when you create your own presentation. This is what your audience will probably wait, and if not (for example in the case of a new customer) is what you want them to wait from now.
- Under Font Style – You must use a font style consistent throughout your presentation. Places where exceptions to this rule could occur are:
- Slider – The first slide of your presentation will usually fonts, etc. that are not in the rest of your presentation. That's great, because it may be standard slide presentations for your company, or simply the standard for your project. It can also capture the attention for the presentation, so you really want to stand out.
- Headers / footers – The header and / or a foot of each blade is usually part of the model that you and your company uses for PowerPoint presentations, making it more likely will not in the same font as body of your slides.
Other than the two examples above, you must use a font style consistent throughout sections of your slides. For example, your body text on each slide must share the same policy, as well as headers or footers that exist outside your model.
- Avoid eating Clip Art – Although it may seem both ingenious make a slide with a big "light bulb idea, he will not win you points with your audience. Clip Art is very generic and adds really nothing to the presentation, it just clutters up. On the other hand, if you want to use real photos of your subject is good.
- Use bullets Thoughts – One of the biggest mistakes you can make when you put together a presentation is to put too much information on the slide. This usually occurs when paragraphs are used instead of chips and concise thoughts. The point of each slide should not be a document Word, it's just supposed to have items that you can talk while making your presentation. Too much information per slide quickly cause your audience to lose interest and you can almost give up hope of them away having learned nothing. Be concise and try not to put in main points for each slide.
- Get Evaluated by peers – is probably part most important tips to remember. Before you turn your work, you should always get it peer review and to read it through yourself. It is easy to get lost in your project when you were "in the weeds" for a long period, it is always a good idea to take back and someone else take a look. There is also a good idea to put aside for a bit, then go through the presentation again yourself for a new perspective on this.
The above tips are a good start for a checklist that you can use before turning in one of your presentations. You need to add information specific to your work. It saves everyone time and examination revision and make your first project much better.
