Skil Saw

Can I cut acrylic with a skil saw?
I need to cut a piece of acrylic can I use a skil saw?
Yes, but don’t “just use a fine tooth blade”. Use a blade that **says** it can be used to cut plastic. It will not only be a fine-tooth (about 150-160 teeth on a 7-1/4″ diameter blade), but also have teeth that are angled properly for cutting plastic.
Using a fine-tooth blade that is meant for wood is not recommended. There is a more aggresive tooth angle on wood blades.
There will be some melt created in the process. Just file or sand off any melt that is stuck to your piece, as well as the cut edges and corners.
The blades are available at Home Depot. Probably at Lowe’s too.
