Steaks got wet while defrosting in the sink. Still good?
I put my strip steaks in the sink with room temp water to defrost, and left them there about 30 minutes. When I checked on them, I realized the package they were in was not water tight, and it was filled up with water. The steaks are defrosted and still cold to the touch, but have kinda changed color and appear to have soaked up the water like a sponge…weird texture. Are they still good?
Yes, they are still good, just squeeze the water out of them, steaks get wet when you marinade them, so dont worry about some water. If you are going to marinade them you can still do it. April
