Shower Riser
can you use pvc for a shower riser?
The term pvc in plumbing pipe material refers to drains and vents. CPVC is the material used for domestic water lines. If the riser you are referring to is domestic water feed to shower valve or shower head cpvc can be used. Adapters are available to transist from threaded valve assemble to cpvc pipe. If the riser you are referring to is on the drain 1 1/2″ or 2″ PVC can be used. There are adapters and fittings available for any application. Be sure to purchase the proper primer and cement for the job.
