At your service
Each year, preparations for December 31 followed the same trend for Andy and Julie. They invite all their friends to Julie goes home and the best part of the week cleaning the house from top to bottom, trying to look respectable after all the hardships of Christmas. Upon Eve arrives, even the vacuum cleaner does not cooperate, refusing point blank to pick up the needles of Christmas tree pine fell on the carpet. Andy goes off-license to buy enough alcohol to sink a battleship, and Julie (his own admission, not Delia Smith) runs into the kitchen and tries to fight against the dresser. Many hours and tens of vol-au-vent later, Julie was exhausted, covered in flour and a little tired, and there not enough room in the fridge for all those drumsticks. Andy can not remember where he stored the inflatable mattress customers last year and seems to suffer mild depression that many of us experience at the end of the year.
On the eve itself, it very much a "Open House", a case of "all welcome," and the party is going, but then there's the rest on New Year's Day … paper plates, half eating sausage rolls, bombs tableware and banners all over the floor … bodies strewn throughout the various stages of sleep, including a people huddled in the bathroom, wearing little more than a party hat and a smile of apology. Finally, having spent their guests groggy, Andy and Julie had a hearty breakfast of paracetamol and water, and began the company to clarify the devastation. (Did they really go that many bottles?)
It will be very different this year. Andy and Julie decided they will have time for themselves – The fun of the new year, no frills. A luxury apartment in the western part of London Bill altogether. They are pleasantly surprised by the cost, and Internet booking could not be easier.
The apartment is located in Kew, in the Borough Richmond, just minutes from the famous botanical gardens. From the moment they arrive, they knew they made the right choice. The apartment is absolutely impeccable. It is light, airy and spacious, tastefully decorated and fully equipped with all the facilities they could wish. cream furniture neutral and natural warm woods give a contemporary but warm, 'Cottage' pervasive. The bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed beautifully decorated with crisp, sheets and duvet opulent, with furniture hand-carved dressing table. The bathroom has a separate shower and huge, engagingly fluffy white towels hang on the rails. The kitchen, newly fitted pine, has everything they might need, fridge / freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker … and the lounge is the ultimate in comfort, with a breathtaking view of the window-lined street trees below. There is a huge comfortable sofas to sink in, and even a large selection of books, videos and CDs to choose, in the case unlikely that they need to create their own entertainment.
This is the last day of the year, but Andy and Julie have a lot of time to take in some sights of London before the festival begins. It begins with a stroll around the village of Kew, with its wonderful shops, and finish with a dinner first class in one of its many wonderful restaurants. Then it's back to the apartment to cool off with an invigorating shower and change clothes the speed of the party. New Year in London would not be right without a visit to the London Eye, and a short journey by taxi takes them there. There must be thousands people, young and old, all soaking in the wonderful atmosphere. It is electric. And as the countdown begins large and Big Ben strikes midnight, a loud cry goes up as the crowd was entertained by the fireworks the most spectacular illuminated London Eye and the river, accompanied by the sound of champagne corks countless popping. Shouts of "Happy New Year" abound, like laughing and hugging complete strangers. It is a spectacular start to the brand new year.
Happy and laughing like teenagers, Andy and Julie find the luxury serviced apartment is their equally smart when they arrived. Their Absence, as if by magic, the dishwasher has been emptied and the contents tidily put aside, and fresh towels were placed in the bathroom. The clothes they wore before were even folded and placed in a pile on the net stool room. Later in the morning with not a vol-au-vent or party popper for Andy and Julie laughed as they snuggle in bed, thinking back to last New Year's Day. It's strange, they have never discover who the guy in the bathroom was …
