Don’t Waste Your Money On A Sediment Water Filter
It is not that I am against water filters. But when it comes to a sediment water filter, I simply can’t understand how it can prove useful to us?
After all not many of us own a spa or a pool where we can comfortably employ a sediment water filter and ensure that all the particles and granular contaminants are removed from the water being filled in the pool . There is nothing more to really expect from these filters.
If you are like me who need an efficient system for purifying the water you use for drinking and cooking purposes – a sediment water filter is just not the thing.
It is too basic and can only take care of the bigger contaminants present in water.
Tell me, if you take a glass full of tap water, do you see any sediment, dirt, rust flakes etc in it?
I am sure the answer is No. And that is because they have already been removed even before the water is supplied to our homes. And these particles are literally the only things which a sediment water filter can remove.
What it cannot remove and is there in tap water is other smaller contaminants which cannot be seen by the naked eye. As per the facts there are over 80,000 contaminants present in tap water at one time or another. And out of them 2100 are known to cause cancer!
In order to get rid of all these potentially hazardous pollutants, what we need is an advanced water filter – one which employs cutting edge technologies like carbon filtration, sub micron filtration and ion exchange or may be a combination of these techniques.
When all these techniques work in tandem, we can be assured of the purity of the water produced. These categories of purifiers which employ multiple stages of purification are known as multi stage water purifiers.
The results that these purifiers can provide is 99% clean and pure water which is just not possible with a sediment filter.
With so many advanced water purifiers available today and that too with such reasonable price – I feel – buying a sediment water filter is nothing better than wasting your money. All it is trying to remove is something which has already been removed from the water – even before water reaches your home!
