Which Security software is good for use on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit?
Here’s how I define good. It should do a good job filtering out viruses, spyware and warning me of malicious sites. It should be simple to use and not be a resource hog. It should be affordable.
What’s a good choice given these criteria?
I recommend Avast Home Edition. I use it on all of my PCs and recommend it to all of my customers. It’s free. Also, download Malwarebyte’s anti-malware (free version) and update & run it once a week. No single anti-virus program is 100% effective, you need a layered approach. This is what I use and this is what I recommend to all of my clients. (Most of my PCs are running Win7 x64 so I know it is compatible)
