Scraped Oak
Tips on restaining an interior door?? It’s an old door with small square panels and its stained real dark.
I want to restain it to a lighter… maybe oak shade. I bought PAINT stripper, but it doesn’t take everything off so I can see the bare wood. Don’t I have to get it all off and down to the bare wood?
Do I have to sand it too?
What about the crevices in the door panels???
Isn’t there a wood stain remover I can apply and scrape off??
Lots of questions…yikes!
Hope I am not in over my head because I already started and it’s not looking good right now.

Ok it is called D. I. Y. (do it yourself)..
this is an exception to the D.I.Y
you have started off good and your idea is right but you do not have the tools to do this job
Here is what i would do at this time take the door to the nearest carpentry shop and ask them there if they can help you by (sand plasting) getting the old paint, stain, ect.. off the door tell them what you would like to do with it (OK it will cost you maybe 20$) but it will be clean and you will not need to sand it any more…
have done this and the time saved well Good luck
