I saw a home straightening perm kit at walmart, should I trust it?
Should I buy it..It was around 10 dollars. I have curly hair..and it’s really hard to straighten with a flat iron it takes like 30 minutes and drives me insane. I’m sick of doing it everyday. So is this home kit alright?
I wouldn’t touch that with a 10-foot pole. I used to get a straightening perm done by a stylist because my hair is very curly, too. I would recommend getting it done at a salon. It’s usually about 25-30 dollars (not including tip), but at least you will know they won’t completely ravage your hair. I will tell you even when done by a stylist, you are going to have some damage, so don’t get it done too often. And I will tell you that you will still have a slight wave to your hair. Mine would never end up pin-straight like I had hoped. I still had to flat iron it. But for a much shorter period of time.
Since the procedure causes damage even when it’s done by a stylist, my guess is that a home-kit is going to cause 10 times more damage. I recommend against it.
