Saw Dust
How can I tell if woodwords are present (does the saw dust present mean they are alive or dead)?
If you see small holes about 1 to 2 mm diameter scattered in a random fashion with fine dust present that is a sure sine of woodworm. But what you see are the exit holes, the worms have already burrowed out of the wood. Treatment is easy and relatively cheap. More detailed information given on link below.
