Why my little router fold and nearly killed me?
I have a router that runs at 30,000 RPM and used a Roman ogee 1 / 4 "bit to move slowly on the side of the cons-plated. It sounds instantly and violently repressed. The bit is bent at 45 degrees and chipped the router base a bit. I read about moving the router in the wrong direction, but they never say anything about it almost kill someone. Why would this happen? I tremble and do not want to use a router ever!
What happened to you is very uncommon but not rare. My first thought is somewhat faulty. You say it bent, I suppose you are talking about 1 / 4 "shaft. I do not think the problem was the heat or too much pressure from your description and even if plywood is not an easy material to rout (especially because of the glue), it certainly should not break a little. If the problem is not the bit itself, I suppose he slipped onto the mandrel, may not be sufficiently tight or perhaps because it was improperly inserted, or not far enough, not centered in clip, or it could have lubricant (oil, wax or grease) on the tree or Chuck. The bit is bent probably because she started to slide on the mandrel, when pressed on the side by the pressure on the plywood, and then those of RPM 3000 did the rest. Back on the horse and try again. Put a little further, make sure its definitely the router on and off several times without a break.
