How to limit the supply to 5VDC 5.8A 12VDC 0.5A?
If the 5V voltage regulator is used, it can limit the current to low? The supply voltage 12VDC 5.8A will heat 5VDC voltage regulator and burn? If so, how to solve it? Supply voltage 9V 5.8A will cause problems to my hobby kits 9VDC circuit normal?
3 terminal voltage regulators such as LM7805 has built in current limiting and thermal limiting. If they become too hot, they will close. If you want 5 V at 0.5 amps, which is a power dissipation of 7×0.5 = 3.5 watts. It needs a medium heat sink small. I'm confused, you have 3 different stores listed. I understand that you drop 12 volt supply down with a 5V regulator. Where does the form of supply 9 volts in all this?.
