Air purifiers, what to get?
Hi, i am inside all of the time and suffering from allergies i think. So i think it may be time to get an air purifier.
I have been trying to research them but there seems to be very mixed reactions. What is the best to buy in the £50-100 price range and will it be effective?
Every one i find that looks good. be it have no filter or a hepa one, some reviews say its horrible, some say it produces ozone which made things worse. some say it was the best thing they’ve ever bought.
I’m really confused on what to buy to try help me feel better, as i am constantly tired and feel full of cold.
Could you suggest what one to buy? And if it has helped you feel better overall?
I like the looks of the Bionare BAP825RC & Heaven fresh XJ-2100UV but again, mixed reviews
Do not be misled by reviews by ordinary people who have no technical background. I am an allergy sufferer who has been using air purifiers for decades.
After consulting with medical experts in allergies and reading consumer testing articles I would recommend you purchase a HEPA filter (not a HEPA like filter). Do not get one with an ionizer. Bionaire makes a very good product. I have found them to by among the quietest. (I have tried other “quiet” models but returned them because even on low they made too much noise.) Just make sure you get a model with the HEPA filter as they make different types. Also, make sure you buy one that fits the size of the room. Buying a larger one is more expensive and not necessary for small rooms.
Make sure you replace the filters when needed. The charcoal filters need to be replaced more often if odors such as cigarette smoke is a problem.
I have been very happy with my Bionaires. People have commented on how “clean” the air in my house is.
