Puller Removal
305 Iroc rebuild. Cast aluminum attachment elimination question?
I work on the odd side now. And there is a bolt hidden behind the steering. I guess I have to draw on the pulley serpentine and remove the power steering to access this bolt. Is this true? If so what would be the right tool because it does not move with a pulley puller?
You need to remove the pulley from the power steering pump before you can arrive at the ankle. And trust me on this topic, their is no tool that can be used to remove the other pulley, then the tool made for this. I tried 2 jaw pullers, steering wheel pullers, etc. and nothing can remove. The tool is called a power GM management pump pulley remover. They are sold at Autozone and advanced. They also have this tool on the Lend-A-Tool "list. But I recommend you buy one, because you need the tool to put the pulley back on this. Believe me, you need the tool. Ive spent hours only to avoid to end one week later with the tool.
