How to locate water and electric lines on private property?
I’m having some septic work done and have been informed that I need to locate and mark any private water and electric lines on the property before the workers can dig. I have lines running from my house to a barn. How do I locate them?
Forgot to add, I have a well. No public water utility company 
if someone is going to be digging where power and phone are usually ask for you to call and they will come out and mark where their lines are either spray or flags, they have a piece of equipment that looks like a metal detector, if you can’t get any help that way, try rental companies, maybe they would have gigzet or give you further info.
now as far as you water line, not to sure about that, i am on a well and have been able to find mine with string from the line you connected to run the water to barn, then go to what you believe is the first water source at the barn, and tie string from house origin into barn destination. or if too long for string try to sight it. most always water lines are ran in straight line and i buried my line about 3 feet, so get the post hole diggers and proceed in line across where you think line is and go 2 feet to either side, now is your area is free of tree roots then try like the pros do – the metal rod .
