Portable Winch
Small, light weight, portable winch to put in truck tool box? What do you suggest?
I have 2 Toyota trucks and occasiionally go off roading. Yesterday I ALMOST got stuck in the middle of nowhere and am now on the hunt for a small portable winch that I can take with me “Just in case”
Any suggestions?
I figure that a “Come allong” wont be strong enough to pull a 4000 lb truck off a rock.

Your winch should be rated for at least twice the weight of your truck. A 4,000 lb truck needs at least an 8,000 lb winch, especially if you’re winching uphill or out of deep deep mud.
They make mounts that go into your receiver hitch if you have one, that way you can remove the winch quickly if you need to or swap it between trucks.
