Plug Cutter
Question about baking a sealed glass ball?
Okay, here’s the deal. I’m making a globe sculpture out of fimo clay; and plan on using a Japanese Glass Float as my form. (The float I have lacks bubbles) But I worried that the air in the globe will cause it to to break or explode in the oven. What do you think?

Type: Craft store, with no bubbles, about 3 in. across
Glass thickness: (guess) about 1/8 inch
Baking temp (fimo)
230 F for 30 mins
Do you guys think it will break or explode? If so, do you know a good way to break the plug off without breaking the whole thing? (I don’t have a glass cutter)
Yes, if it is sealed, it will explode. Get a glass cutter… or a drill to make a small hole in it. Take it to a shop that will cut it for you. It can be dangerous when it explodes.
