Help – what type of drill bit do I need to use to drill holes into river rocks?
I went to Lowe’s and Home Depot and to put it simply, their customer service is lacking. I’ve tried four different drill bits (regular, blue granite, mason, and the spear looking one for tile and glass), but none have really done the job yet. The blue granite actually drilled a nice hole into one rock, but the drill bit was ruined after that. I think the only one I haven’t tried is the diamond bit (quite costly at $20 each)
Is there a technique that I need to do to make this happen? Do I need to have the rock wet or put it in the oven to make sure it’s completely dry. The rocks I’m trying to drill into are like the ones on the linked website.

that is a good bit but do you have a hammer drill? your bit burned up because its spinning to fast but a Variable speed hammer drill and a bosch bit should work, diamond bits are better but is there a harbor freight store in your city cause they have blades and bits all made in china and cheap, hammer drill is the ticket
