Common Electrical Plug Configurations
If you are going projects to address the electrical wiring in your home, you want to have a good understanding of the power configurations the most common. Can be very dangerous for electricity if it is not treated with the respect they deserve. Danger, however, makes it necessary to learn how to spend some time to do the job correctly. If you are not completely confident, and to consider hiring a professional.
There are hundreds of different electrical sockets in use all over the world, and this article discusses different types in use in American homes, rather than international or industrial plugs.
Nema Connectors
Connectors NEMA is a set of standards that apply to all configurations of electrical components used in North America. These standards have been established by the Committee of the U.S. National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) as a means of protecting the public. Nema 5
The most common configuration of electrical components used in modern homes is 5-15 NEMA plug. This is a 3 pin pin receptacles that have foundations.
