Why do you get yellow light when you mix red and green light.?
And could you anwer: Why do you get what you get when you mix colored light?
You do get yellow light from mixing red and green light, so please answer!!! Im awarding best answer!!!!
The primary colors are yellow, blue, and red, so you don’t get true yellow by mixing red and green. You’d get a mixture of red and green wavelengths, and to the human eye that would appear as an orange color because of the combined wavelengths.
If you mix all the colors you get white light.
EDIT – you need to understand that each color of light has its own wavelength. Like the other poster said, if you mix 2 colors of paint you get a new color which is produced from one specific wavelength unique to that color when all colors except that color are absorbed by the paint. However, when you mix light, you are mixing different wavelengths of light so that each individual wavelength is still in the light. Your eye perceives that mixture of wavelengths as a new color, even though the mixed light does not have that specific wavelength.
Look up a reference on electromagnetic spectrum and you can see how the wavelengths affect the true color of reflected light, and the eye’s perceived color of mixed light wavelengths.
