Why do I have a lot of thumbs down, so when I say that the combination of metric and standard English?
should continue be used in the United States. I mean, are not they both have their own strengths and weaknesses and in addition, it seems freggin "delayed for a person say, "Yeah, I'm driving 50 miles per hour right now, it just does not sound right with an American accent, I say we keep both metric and for more scientific type and level of English for everyday uses like more
I agree with you, and I'm really comfortable with the metric system. Personally, I use the rhythm and the Roman cubit in my daily work at the farm. The Roman pace is about five feet, and a thousand of them (Mille passus) is the basis of English mile. To count the Roman paces, there are only the left or right foot while you walk, not both. The cubit is the distance between the elbow and the end of the middle finger. It is about 18 inches on me. The foot, the pace and angled have the huge advantage that I can not lose them. When I need to measure things, they are handy. Oh And speaking of hands, hand (Four inches) is very convenient to measure the horses, although I prefer a band mass and height. A hand is about 10 cm.
