how do tell if the amp meter on a lawn mower is bad? i put my continuity tester on mine and there is continuit
i have unhooked the pos. and neg. terminals. it is on a cub cadet 1720 the second i turn the key on it blows a fuse.it seems to me that there should be no continuity between the pos and neg terminals because that would be like hooking your pos and neg wires together.
your right……..but this is the way they installed your ammeter…your charging system only produces a few amp,s anyway….does your ammeter show in degrees or simply +&- ..if I were you I,d throw it out & install a volt meter…..a much more precise method of monitering your charging system….but to check your ammeter simply hook it up to any 12volt sorce….if hooked up right it will give a positive reading…if hooked up backward,s it will give a negitave read…..but don,t look for much….at best it will barly move.
