How do I set my luggage lock? It didn’t come with directions…?
I just bought a Smooth Trip luggage lock that’s TSA and Travel Sentry approved. It says there are “simple instructions” as to how to set my combination inside the packaging, but they aren’t there.
Does anyone know how to set this lock’s combination?
It usually comes set to all zeros. In any event, set it to all zeros, pull out the shank, twist it 180 degrees. At that point it will probably pull out further. When it’s pulled out, set it to the new combination and write it down. Push the shank back in and twist it back around.
Lock the lock and change one number as a test. Then reset that number to the one in the combination. The lock should open. If it does, you have succeeded and can set it at random the next time you close it. If that doesn’t work, call the store where you bought it and ask.
