How do you install a lock knob on your door?

lock knob = door knob with a key lock on it
1st- measure from center of hole where old handle was located to the edge of the door. This determines the length of the the backset ( the part that goes in the side of the door. Buy your new lockset with the correct size backset, then follow the installation instructions that come with your particular product. Each manufacturer is a little different. The only tools you will need are a ruler and a phillips screwdriver.
