Epidural? Is anyone having back problems a long time after they’ve had an epidural?
Please share your epidural-gone-wrong stories… I’d love to hear if you’ve had any similar problems.
I’ve had two epidurals. My first was seven years ago & all went fine. I had another one five years ago when my son was born. It was horribly painful going in (I almost passed out from the pain), it only numbed the left half of my body (was then repositioned), and was terribly sore afterward. I still have a lot of pain daily at the injection site. Drs. say that the lingering pain could not have been caused by the epidural, but that is precisely when the pain started. I have had several lido injections in my back & even weeks of physical therapy, but nothing helps. If I touch the spot, even accidentally brush it against a chair or something, the pain is incredible.
I have had back problems because of an epidural since my 1st pregnancy 4yrs ago. I have 3 sons and had an epi with each one, It did not take with my second, he was my only natural birth. I get really bad spasms to where they literally paralyze me for a few seconds. BUT it should not hurt the way that yours does. There shouldn’t be any pain at slight touch. They may have screwed up when giving it to you and you should have an x-ray to rule out any slipped disk’s etc. Call a chiropractor, they should be able to help and if not go to the ER and request to be seen. This is serious.
