Home oil heating??? Help!!!!?
Im about to move to an upper lever duplex which is heated via oil fuel….i was wondering if anyone had any advise on how to conserve oil and save money…also are space heaters a good idea??

Generally space heaters will be less efficient than a central heating system. However if you are heating a smaller space which is insulated from rest space heating may give you some economy. Closing off some areas that are less used is one method to conserve energy. Windows, even good ones are not as insulated as an insulated wall. Thermal insulated shutters that can be closed at night and opened to receive the day’s sunlight will give reasonable benefits but require attention to open and close them. Reducing all air leaks is the most common method of heating conservation practiced.
