SInk faucet is too tight – how do I loosen it?
We have the K-7980-4 Alterna® widespread lavatory faucet and the hot handle has become too tight to turn. I can’t figure out how to loosen it again. I don’t see debris or calcium on it and WD40 hasn’t done the trick. What should I do? Any websites that show how to troubleshoot this type of problem?

Scotch is right but before you take the entire valve apart you could try just taking the knob off and loosening the nut for your valve packing. It’s the large nut right under the handle. That’s why Scotch said not to tighten it too much, if you do it can make it difficult to turn the knob. If you leave it too loose, the valve will leak so just tighten it enough until it doesn’t leak but is still easy enough to turn. If that doesn’t do it, take Scotch’s advice and remove the valve assembly after you turn off the water.
